Special Edition X-Men #1
More than Just a Reprint
I remember when my dad went to 7-11 and came home with this issue. It was before I received my copy of Giant-Size X-Men #1. He knew that I loved the X-Men and thought I would enjoy this. Two dollars was a hefty price to pay for a comic book back then. The Baxter-paper format must have given it some extra-added worth for him to pick it up. I am very happy that he did. For a long while, this was my favorite X-Men book.
Having had to part with my copy of GSX1 in the early 90s while I was attempting to survive in Seattle, I think I would rather own my copy of this reprint again. When I finally part with all of the rest of my comics there will be about twenty-five issues that I would hold onto, not because they are worth money but because they are worth something to me. I would add this comic to that selective collection.
